On the island of Saint-Nicolas in the Glénan archipelago, all the guests were able to witness the arrival of the MOD70 under sail. On time and in all her finery, the one-design trimaran Foncia put on a real show, right up to the minute she ran up onto the beach to take part in a private ceremony in the presence of her patron, Audrey Tautou.
Michel Desjoyeaux, skipper of the MOD70 FONCIA: “A christening is a maritime transition which we’re trying to carry on. Before we head off for some more official competition meetings, it was important to seal the moment. Audrey came to see us a few days before the start of the Barcelona World Race. The whole team found in her someone completely enthralled by the sea and boats and I knew she would enjoy being the patron! As to the Glénan islands, these are my little paradise…”
