At 1400hrs local time (1300hrs UTC) in a SSWly wind of 15kts the 91 skippers started the tenth edition of La Route du Rhum crossing the line to begin the 3542 Nms solo Transatlantic passage from Saint-Malo to Pointe-a- Pitre in Guadeloupe.
The MOD70 Musandam Oman Sail skipperd by Sidney Gavignet lead for a short time after the start and made the show.
Despite a rough and tricky first night, the MOD70s are still keeping up in the Ultime Class
